Kallmünz

Kallmünz, Perle des Naabtals

Kallmünz looks back on a long history (about 4000 years) - and today is a gem, the pearl of Naab.

Kallmünz is a "market", ie a village of 2800 inhabitants, which has market rights and is still the everyday center for about 20,000 people in the surrounding villages (shops, schools, doctors, etc.)

Kallmünz is one of the 15 most beautiful villages in Germany - and as such in 2018 has decorated the front page of the travel magazine GEOSaison. Luckily, many day trippers and holidaymakers know that Kallmünz is well visited by tourists.
For more than 100 years, Kallmünz has been a magnet for artists who not only spend their summers here - like Wassily Kandinsky and Gabriele Münter, who made many hundreds of sketches and paintings in Kallmünz - but also live here permanently and exhibit their works - or for sale to offer.

Kallmünz is since 2017 the residence of Gabriela Rosas Gonzalez, artist, musician and social anthropologist who has set up her studio on the ground floor of her house in Vilsgasse 13, which also serves as a workshop for painting pictures, as a classroom, as an exhibition space (gallery) - or Also used as a space for concerts or choir rehearsals - or just for celebrating.
